While music runs like a common thread through JGJ's life, technology primarily comes to the fore in his professional life.
JGJ has been fascinated by technology since his early years. Something that only increased when the very first moon landing took place when he was 10 years old.
At school, he was initially an average student, which was mainly because teachers always stopped the moment things got really interesting. Only when he had found his field of study, his curiosity sparked and his study results improved accordingly.
During high school he switched educations and ended up in an electrical/electronics education. From that moment on, his eagerness to learn made things happen almost automatically.
He used the knowledge he acquired to build his first amplifier. But then during this education, the first digital building blocks became available and opened the world with the precursors of microprocessors really opened up to him.
After this education, he continued at University/HBO, just at a time when computer technology became a serious profession. Although this study covered both hardware and software, his preference soon turned to programming.
After his studies, he worked almost exclusively on projects at constantly changing companies. This allowed him to work with the latest techniques again and again and to master them.
Just when JGJ was getting a little bored with the software world, the Internet expanded to include websites in the 90s. Something he completely focused on from that moment on.
In addition to the technology, he also immediately saw the commercial possibilities of the internet, which went far beyond placing some banners and advertisements, without being aware of what could be possible with target group marketing.
When after the first extensions to the Netscape browsers the first web shops arrived from the USA, JGJ was sure that this was his future. The only problem then was to get European banks to accept online payments.
In the meantime, JGJ was still mainly concerned with online sales and online marketing activities.
Although this did him no harm, he wanted to return to technology. If only to no longer have 60-70 hour working weeks and to see his family more.
